Our Process and Pricing 

The Edwards' Law Offices is a virtual law firm. We offer:

  • 30-minutes free initial consultation via telephone and zoom-like meetings.
  • *Fixed Fee Pricing (see note at the bottom of document) 
  • Payment Online. We accept Mastercard, Visa, and Discover, but not American Express.
  • Payment Plan - "zero Interest" with no prepayment penalty, finance charges, or other fees applied to the balance. The documents will be released after the final payment.
  • Easy to complete questionnaires to collect information
  • Quick Turn-Around -  We will try to have a draft of documents ready in 30-45 days (depending on the complexity of the documents and the client's cooperation). The draft is posted on our password-protected portal for clients with a computer device (i.e., cellular phone, tablet, laptop, desktop) and internet access to review at their convenience and give feedback without leaving their location. After changes and corrections are made, they can download and sign them for peace of mind.

PACKAGES AND FIXED FEE PRICES

A. BASIC WILL PACKAGE  This package is ideal if you have only a few assets and no minor children. It includes a Basic Will, General Durable Financial Power of Attorney(s), Healthcare Directive(Living Will/Medical Powers of Attorney), HIPAA Authorization Form, Burial Instruction, and Supporting documents.). 

Base Flat Fee Price:  $799.99 (Individual)  and  $999.99 (Couple)
B. WILL PACKAGE WITH A Special Needs Trust.   This package is ideal if you have children or beneficiaries with disabilities ( i.e., educational, learning, physical, and mental). It can protect their rights to receive income and assets from you, relatives, and friends without rendering them ineligible for public benefit programs (i.e., Medicaid, SSI).   It includes a Basic Will, General Durable Financial Power of Attorney(s), Healthcare Directive(Living Will/Medical Powers of Attorney), HIPAA Authorization Form, Burial Instruction, one (1) special needs trust, and Supporting documents.
Base Flat Fee Price: $2,199.99 (Individual) - $2499.99 (Couple) for the first beneficiary when added to the basic will package. $500.00 for each additional special needs beneficiary.
C. FAMILY WILL PACKAGE:  This package includes all the features of the "Basic Will Package", plus one "testamentary trust" provision.  It is ideal for families with minor children or grandchildren to whom they wish to leave a gift or adult children to whom they want to leave assets in a trust (non-SNT) until they reach a specified age(s) or other milestones.    

Price.  $1299.99 (Individual) and $1499.99(Couple)

D. REVOCABLE LIVING TRUST PACKAGE (Probate Avoidance): This package can avoid probate,  guardianship, and conservatorship. It includes a  Revocable Trust, Declaration of Trust, Certificate of Trust, Pour-over Will, Durable (Financial) Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Directive(Medical Power of Attorney/Living Will), Instructions for Retitling Assets into Trust, Burial Instruction, HIPAA Authorization Form, and Supporting Documents. Distribution is general (*additional charges for special gifts.).  
Price.  $1699.99  (Individual)  -  $2299.99(Couple-Joint RLT)   -  $2899.99 (Couple-Reciprocal RLT)


Revocable Living Trust Package With  A SPECIAL NEEDS TRUST.    This package is ideal if you have children or beneficiaries with disabilities ( i.e., educational, learning, physical, and mental). It can protect their rights to receive income and assets from you, relatives, and friends without rendering them ineligible for public benefit programs( i.e., Medicaid, SSI).  It includes a  Revocable Trust, Declaration of Trust, Certificate of Trust, Pour-over Will, Durable (Financial) Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Directive(Medical Power of Attorney/Living Will), Instructions for Retitling Assets into Trust, Burial Instruction, HIPAA Authorization Form, One (1) Special Needs Trust, and Supporting Documents.  

Price: $2,899.99(Individual) and $3499.99 ($3899.99 (Couple).  $500.00 for each additional special needs beneficiary.
F. PET TRUST PACKAGE: This package is ideal if you have a favorite family pet(s) you want to provide for if you become incapacitated or die.   With a pet trust, you can leave money to be used to care for your pet. You put someone in charge of managing and spending it, following a written set of instructions that you provide. It includes all the features of the Basic Will Package or Revocable Living Trust package.

Price: $700.00 (when added to the price of a Basic Will Package or Revocable Living Trust Package )
G.   DURABLE POWER OF ATTORNEY PACKAGE:  This package can help avoid a lengthy and costly guardianship/conservatorship proceeding.  It is essential for adults, including elderly parents and relatives, high school and college students(18 years of age and older), and other unmarried adult children.  It includes a General Durable (Financial)Powers of Attorney, Healthcare (Medical) Power of Attorney, Healthcare Directive(Living Will), and HIPAA Authorization Form.  Individuals who make this package should also consider making a "Will" or "Living Trust" if they do not have one.

Price $399.99 (Individual) - $499.99 (Couple)

STAND-ALONE DOCUMENTS AND FIXED FEE PRICES

01. SIMPLE  WILL: This is a simple will only. However, most people need additional documents for complete protection, i.e., living trust, powers of attorney, and HIPAA Authorization Form.  


Price: $299.99 (Individual)  - $399.99 (Husband & Wife)

CODICIL TO WILL: This document allows you to supplement or make changes to your will (i.e.,  change executor, update beneficiaries, update gifts to a beneficiary, update guardian selection for children under 18). Ideal if you have only a few minor changes.


Price. $250.00 Hour 

02. THIRD-PARTY SPECIAL NEEDS TRUST (SNT):  This legal document is ideal if you have beneficiaries with disabilities (i.e., educational, learning, physical, or mental).   It is funded by you, your family, or friends and not with the assets of the special needs beneficiary.  It is structured to make help available to the special needs beneficiary without rendering them ineligible for public benefit programs such as Medicaid and supplemental security income (SSI).


Price: $1499.99(Individual)

03. GENERAL DURABLE (FINANCIAL & PROPERTY)  POWER OF ATTORNEY: This Power Of Attorney gives the person you designate the power to handle your financial decisions such as paying your bills, filing your taxes, etc.  


Price: $199.99  (Individual)

04. HEALTH CARE DIRECTIVE (MEDICAL POWER OF ATTORNEY & LIVING WILL ): This Power of Attorney gives the person you designate the legal authority to make medical decisions on your behalf if you cannot do so.    


Price: $249.99  (Individual)

05. CUSTODIAL POW ER OF ATTORNEY:This document is ideal for parents who may need assistance caring for a minor child. With the document, they can give another person, i.e., parent, friend, etc., authority to take care of a minor child when hardship or other factors prevent them from doing so. 


Price: $249.99 (Individual)

06. LIMITED(SPECIAL) POWER OF ATTORNEYThis legal document is ideal if you have personal business to transact but you are unavailable and need someone to stand in for you. It can give another person you name (agent or attorney-in-fact) the legal authority to perform the specific actions on your behalf. It does not provide the agent with full authority and outlines only the decisions the agent may make.


Price:  $299.99 (Individual)

07. HIPAA WAIVER:  A HIPAA Release gives your physician permission to discuss your personal medical information with the person you have granted your medical power of attorney and any others you may choose to designate.   


Price: $149.99 

08. BENEFICIARY (TOD)DEED: This deed, when timely recorded, can avoid the probate court process and transfers title to your real estate to your designated beneficiary (including your revocable trust) upon your death. Your real estate remains titled in your name during your lifetime, and you can change or revoke it before your death.   Individuals who make this document should also consider making a "Will" or "Living Trust" if they do not have one in place.


Price $299.99 (Single Dees), plus recording cost.  


If you own other real estate, we can draft additional deeds for a different fixed fee of $100.00  per beneficiary deed. Also, we will provide instructions on how to record the deed, or we can record them for you for a fixed fee of $100.00 per deed.

09. AFFIDAVIT OF DEATH and AFFIDAVIT OT ENTIRETYThis affidavit is recommended if the person(s) you hold real estate with as a "joint" or "tenant by the entirety" preceded you in death.  It is a legal document that removes a deceased owner from title to property by recording evidence of the deceased owner’s death in the land records. A survivorship affidavit clarifies the land records by letting third parties—title companies, lenders, and property tax officials—know that an owner has passed away and that you now own the property without that owner.  It removes the name of the deceased persons(s) from the title.


Price: $249.99, plus recording cost. We will provide you with instructions on how to record the Affidavit of Death or can record it for you for an additional charge of $100.00 per recording.
10. *AFFIDAVIT OF HEIRSHIP:  This affidavit can establish the legal heirship of an individual who dies without a will or in some instances, with a will.

Price: $699.99 , plus recording cost.  We will provide you with instructions on recording the affidavit, or we can record it for you for an additional charge of $100.00 per recording.
11. NFA GUN TRUST:  This Trust can benefit owners of a firearm regulated under the National Firearms Act or those planning to come into possession at some future date. The benefits include the enjoyment of a firearm by multiple individuals, privacy in ownership, the avoidance of probate, etc. 

Price: $699.99 (Individual ) $899.00 (Couple)
12.  SPECIAL GIFTS:  A specific gift transfers specifically identifiable property(i.e., my car)  to specific individuals or organizations( i.e., John Doe; ABC Charity, etc.) A general gift is a specific or group transfer (i.e., to my children, parents, siblings, etc. ) of non-specific property (i.e., my estate).   

Price: $50.00 per special gift.
